Completion of the “ASPECTS OF MUSIC” project under the “Development of Scientific Journals” program

The “ASPECTS OF MUSIC” project was implemented under agreement no. RCN/SP/0278/2021/1 as part of the “Development of Scientific Journals” program of the Ministry of Education and Science, from November 15, 2022, to November 14, 2024. The total value of the project was PLN 56,600.00, of which PLN 50,000.00 was financed by the Ministry of Education and Science.

The aim of the project was to ensure the highest editorial standards for the journal and to consolidate and further strengthen its position among music theorists and musicologists. The de minimis aid received enabled the editorial team to implement the Open Journal System and to publish two English-language volumes of the journal, engaging Polish and international authors in scientific debate on a transnational and interdisciplinary level, with the cooperation of an international group of reviewers specializing in the topics of individual articles.

The project included, among others:

  • internationalization of the group of authors,

  • internationalization of the team of reviewers cooperating with the editorial board,

  • linguistic, scientific, and technical editing, as well as editing of musical examples,

  • publication of printed versions of two volumes of the journal,

  • online publication of all articles in an open access model, free of charge and without technical restrictions, under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license,

  • DOI registration for all published articles in electronic version,

  • identification of authors, members of the scientific and editorial boards via ORCID,

  • submission of the journal to the digital repositories of the National Library (Polona and Academica), as well as PON — Platform of Open Science, and RILM Abstracts of Music Literature with Full Text,

  • development of a new journal website enabling the implementation of the Open Journal Systems (OJS).

Making the published content available to the international scientific community in Open Access mode will be the basis for further efforts to include the journal in the most influential international scientific journal databases, indexing publications of the highest substantive and editorial quality.

We would like to thank all authors, reviewers, editors, and collaborators who contributed to the completion and success of this project.
